Community Growth Manager Charleston, SC • Full-Time

CompostNow is looking for a stellar individual to join our Charleston-based team and play a key role in engaging the community around composting and managing our customer base (referred to as “members”).

Our mission at CompostNow is to help grow the composting movement by making it easy for our members to divert waste from landfills and enrich soils. By hauling food scraps and delivering compost, we do the dirty work for them and ensure a great composting experience. To build the movement, it is imperative to engage with the community about the importance of composting and encourage them to try composting with CompostNow!

Position Overview

As the Community Growth Manager, you will be responsible for leading and growing CompostNow the greater Charleston area. The core of this role is to ensure our members have an excellent composting experience. In addition, you’ll oversee planning and executing key strategic initiatives geared towards making Charleston more compostable. Initially, you will be expected to wear many hats and perform functions in Sales/Marketing and Operations. You need to be able to get things done and effectively problem solve while working independently in Charleston with a support team in Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities

In this position,
  • You will ensure our members have an excellent composting experience.
  • You will be problem-solving and providing solutions as issues arise. If there is a problem we acknowledge it and find a solution.
  • You are able to plan and execute strategic projects in the market aimed towards making Charleston more compostable.
  • You have a pulse on what’s happening in Charleston. You love meeting people, building relationships, and making sure you are representing CompostNow in a professional way. In this role, you’ll be connected with some really awesome community advocates and event organizers who help us grow the composting movement. You’ll be expected to nurture these relationships and develop new ones.
  • You have excellent organization skills and are able to keep your CRM up-to-date and stay on top of administrative tasks.
  • Make sure Charleston is well represented on our social media platforms by working with the Social Media lead to schedule engaging posts using a consistent voice.
  • Internally, represent and communicate the needs of the Charleston Market to the CompostNow leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Believe in building sustainable communities and the mission of CompostNow.
  • 1-3 years of Sales and Marketing Experience.
  • Excellent communicator and comfortable engaging new people.
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented.
  • Tech-savvy. You must be comfortable using Google Suite, Salesforce, Project Management Tools, Communications Tools (i.e. Slack), and more.
  • Proficient at Excel / Google Sheets or willing to learn.
  • Have reliable transportation and a good driving record.
  • Willing to work weekends as needed.

Brand Ambassador - AKA Soil Squad Roles in the Triangle, Asheville, and Atlanta • Part-Time

CompostNow is looking to add to it’s growing Soil (Brand) Ambassador team! You will be directly responsible for growing membership and making the Triangle, Asheville, and Atlanta a more compostable community one new member at a time.

You‘ll be part of a small team in a start-up environment and be able to get involved in all aspects of growing a social enterprise. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to gain fun and meaningful sales and marketing experience on a part-time basis. Must be available to work weekends. Opportunity for growth will be based on performance.

Residential Driver - AKA Route Wrangler Raleigh, NC & Atlanta, GA • OPS Team • Full-Time

At the core of our service is providing clean and lined pails to our members every week while making every interaction a delight for members. As a Route Wrangler and Soil Slinger you prepare bins for delivery, maneuver your designated route (servicing residential and office members), document details of individuals stops (logging route data) and handle the collection process.

Responsibilities

At basic, servicing each member stop involves:

  • managing member stops through our Admin (Wrangler) Dashboard (on iPad)
  • delivering clean lined pail(s) **new members also receive a magnet list of accepted compostables
  • weighing & recording collected pail(s)
  • delivering pails of compost back to members (as requested)

About You

  • Clean driving record and comfortable maneuvering large vehicle
  • Strong commitment to safety of self and others
  • Love of exceptional customer service, and a natural sense of hustle
  • Strong desire to work with your head AND your hands
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds above your head
  • Willing and able to work outdoors in all elements (rain, heat, cold, etc.)
  • Detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask and react quickly to changing conditions
  • Committed to communicating regularly and constructively with team members
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles or work vans a plus

Commercial Driver - AKA Route Wrangler Raleigh, NC & Atlanta, GA • OPS Team • Full-time

The Commercial Driver is responsible for servicing our various commercial members (restaurants, offices, etc.) collecting roll carts filled with compostable material (35 and 65 gallon carts) and dropping off clean, empty carts. The driver will be responsible for maneuvering their designated route, documenting details of individual stops (logging route data) and handling the collection process.

At basic, servicing a commercial stop involves:

  • managing member stops through our Admin (Wrangler) Dashboard (on iPad)
  • delivering clean roll carts
  • collecting roll carts full of compostable material, weighing and recording data of collected cart
  • delivering compostable products to commercial accounts (when necessary)

About You

  • Clean driving record and comfortable maneuvering large vehicle
  • Experience with box trucks REQUIRED (we currently operate a 26ft straight truck)
  • Strong commitment to safety of self and others
